"MasterMario - Keeper of the V8s" (mastermario)

This couple has taken their bike all around the world and in this video had been on the road for 3 years. One thing I’m having trouble with though are the small wheels on the back of the bike. Close up at 1:03. What the hell are they for?

I’m guessing it’s a wheelie bar to tilt back onto for carting around in tight spaces?

My only guesses are to protect the bike from getting out of sorts on sharp drops so the wheels hit before the panniers. Other than that... No idea

Never mind the four calipers, what’s up with that front suspension
?

It looks like they wanted to disconnect the handlebar from the suspension (a la Gold Wing) for comfort and in order to get whichever config they want, look at those dual steering dampeners and the protector plate for the caliper.
Though I don’t think those disks can handle all that heft as well as it looks like they do.

That’s what I was thinking, but I can’t imagine taking that thing on anything super rough as loaded as it is

I think they are definitely an off-road aid. With the paniers hanging that far beyond the rear wheel those provide anti-bash protection and also reduce the chances of hanging up what is obviously a VERY heavy bike on steep ascent and descent.

my guess is to help with loading the bike vertically in storage/shipping situations? Or perhaps for some servicing that needs to be done, it’s easier to prop the bike vertically?

back the fuck up, that was a moto guzzi?!?!? I would have though an older boxxer BMW or a monstrosity of a gold wing.

It seems like a quite rough off road and comfortable settup.
Think Electra glide and R 1200 GS having a child, it’d be that.
A very weird child....

The two rear removable crash bars also act as a luggage trolley when the bike is being shipped, the box section attaches as a handle and two small nylon wheels attach to each frame allowing it to be rolled along with both panniers attached.
